Methodist Church, St. Paul and
Twenty-seventh streets, on Friday
at 2 P.M. Friends may call at the
Mitchell Home, 1900 Eutaw place,
on Thursday from 2 P.M. to 5 P.M.
and 7 P.M. to 10 P.M. and on Fri-
day until noon. Interment in

Catherine R. Hall

Catherine Read Hall of Chestertown, formerly of Lexington, Ky., died Monday, Feb. 8, 1999, at Magnolia Hall Nursing Home, Chestertown. She was 89. Born in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Rev. Edgar Thomas and Daisie Hammond Read. Rev. Read was the minister at Calvary Methodist Church in Easton from 1919 to 1939. A 1926 graduate of Easton High School and a 1930 graduate of Western Maryland College, she earned her master's degree in 1932 at the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor. In 1931 she married W. Scott Hall, who died in 1973. She taught school and was a social worker before her children were born, then she worked in an antique book store in Lexington, KY for more than 20 years. She did volunteer work in Lexington public schools, the Juvenile Advisory Board, and the Transylvania University Faculty.
